Frequently asked questions
Which OCR page should I use?
If you know the language, use its page: the model gets hints about that script, such as Polish diacritics, Arabic dots or Kurrent letter shapes. If you don't know the language or the page mixes several, use the general handwriting to text tool on this page.
What's the difference between the "handwriting to text" and "OCR" pages?
They run the same engine. The handwriting pages focus on notes, letters and cursive; the OCR pages cover printed text, scans and screenshots. Either one reads both kinds of text.
Why images only?
Each image gets the model's full attention, which keeps results accurate and fast. For a PDF, screenshot the pages and upload those images.
How much does it cost?
Your first image is free without an account. A free account gives 3 credits plus 1 free credit every day; each image uses one credit.
