Why language-specific OCR helps
General OCR often turns "Łódź" into "Lodz" and "się" into "sie". That looks minor, but it breaks search, spell-check and anything you paste the text into. Because this tool knows it's reading Polish, it keeps the diacritics and Polish quotation marks („ ”).
Typical uses
- Copying text from Polish textbooks and readers
- Extracting text from letters from a Polish urząd, bank or employer
- Screenshots of Polish websites, PDFs and presentations
- Old printed books and newspapers for research
- Product labels, menus and signs
Printed and handwritten together
Printed forms filled in by hand are read in one pass. For pages that are mostly handwritten, such as letters or parish records, see the Polish handwriting to text page for tips.
From a PDF?
This tool takes images, not PDFs. Screenshot or export each page and upload up to five at once. Each page's text comes back separately, with a Copy all option.
Mostly handwritten pages? Try Polish handwriting to text.
